Well, we finally did it. Bobby and I made an offer on a house! After two years of hoping, wishing, and praying, we feel rather stunned that it could actually happen.
I have declined filling everyone in our agonizing search process - sometimes it's just too discouraging to post - and let me tell you there are some disgusting places out here (please, please, please house train your pets!!!) - but now that it's a real possiblity and we're feeling much more enthusiastic, here are a few things about our potentially new home:
It's a 3 bedroom 1.5 bath rambler with room enough for visitors (hint hint). It has irrigation included as part of the property which really sold us - we love gardening even though we have yet to prove ourselves having green thumbs. The property size keeps shrinking as the process goes, but there's still more than enough for two of us. (We've been promised the lister will stake out the lines today to clear up the listing mistake. They said it was much larger than it actually is turning out to be...) It has a room for a fireplace, which is very important to a prior fireplace installer/technician. The romantic in me isn't opposed to the idea either. It's located in a place called Flora Vista, located between Farmington and Aztec, meaning it's far enough away to feel outside of the cities but close enough to still be able to get to everything in just a few minutes. And the dyed purple carpet has got to go.

Yay!!! Pictures, pictures! Dyed purple carpet--you've got to get a pic of that. Gag! So how big did the property turn out to be? I would push for an addendum in your contract regarding price. If the property was misrepresented as being larger than it is, you absolutely should not be paying the original price for it!
Congratulations! We are hoping to join the home-owners clan someday in the future. I am excited to see pictures and hear all the details when you get things smoothed out. I hope you are enjoying New Mexico.
