Soccer season

Last weekend Bobby got to act as the stand-in referee for a soccer game. Madyson's team was short a referee so Uncle Bobby got to come to the rescue. It was a ton of fun to watch - what's cuter than a group of four year olds charging enthusiastically down the field, in oversized jerseys, with big grins on their faces? I'm thinking not much...

There isn't much to referee at this age - make sure the ball stays in the lines, nobody touches the ball with their hands (one boy balled his hands into fists, so technically, he couldn't touch it, right?), and try to keep the mobbing around the ball to a limited amount. The great part too is that at this age, they just have fun playing, without the unsportmanship traits that come when grown ups play.
